Our adventure at Fleet Feet

On Saturday, we decided to take a trip up to Fleet Feet, or as we call it, "the running store". We really did not know what to expect. We were greeted by some nice folks who told us that in order to be helped, we needed to put our name on a mirror that they have at the front of the store, Karen and I put our names down and crossed our fingers that it would not take TOO long due to we had the children with us. It is a pretty neat store, the people who work there are very knowledgeable and very thin. As we waited our turn, we took a look around at the clothes, the shoes, and the various accessories. I took a few minutes to look at the energy foods as well. I keep reading on some of the message boards about energy gels and clif bars and whatnot...look pretty gross to me.

Anyhow, one of the ladies called our name and we told her our story...from the last blog posting and advised how we felt the $30 shoes from Kohls were probably not being too kind to our feet. She agreed and told us to take our socks and shoes of. Claire grimaced at the thought of me taking my socks off, but I assured her I took a shower, she would be fine. Nevertheless, she moved to Karen's side. She measured our feet and then brought out several pair of shoes for us to try...she brought out a pair of Asics, a pair of Mizunos, and some Brooks. She brought Karen a pair of Nike and a pair of Asics...once each of us had our pair of shoes on, she took us outside to watch us run. After watching us run, she was able to give us a better sample of shoes based on her findings. We made our decisions, then she helped us out some other accessories, some socks, some inserts for the shoes. It was an expensive shopping trip, but in the end it will be worth it.
